Law School Classes for Practicing Attorneys
The Executive Summer Courses Program at Berkeley Law is designed for practicing attorneys who want to delve into new subject areas, deepen their knowledge of specific topics that pertain to their practice, and advance their careers. Lawyers can enroll in single courses in the areas of business law and law and technology, or a package of courses culminating in a certificate. These courses and certificates are offered in-person on Berkeley Law’s campus from mid-May through early-August.
In-Person
On CampusClasses run:
Executive summer course participants attend classes along with students in the LL.M. executive track and are taught by Berkeley Law faculty.* Participants who complete at least three Executive Summer Courses in one of two subject areas are eligible for a Certificate of Completion. The series of courses must be completed within three consecutive summers.
*Executive course participants attend on a non-degree basis (not matriculated). They do not earn academic credit, take a final exam, receive a grade or an official UC Berkeley transcript.
The following courses will be offered in-person, at UC Berkeley Law during the summer of 2023, with the exception of Blockchain for Lawyers and International Business Negotiations, which will be offered online via Zoom (see details below). Course titles are linked to detailed course descriptions. Each quarter is three weeks in length.
