What Does it Take to Become a Successful General Counsel?

The General Counsel Institute, co-hosted by Berkeley Law Executive Education and Peer 150, is targeted at mid-career in-house attorneys who want to gain insight into the skills, techniques, and disciplines of the general counsel role, as well as network with other up and coming legal executives. Sessions are taught and facilitated by UC Berkeley faculty and Fortune 1000 General Counsel who have foundational knowledge, as well as practical, real-world experience.

Program Structure

The interactive program is designed to maximize opportunities for discussion, learning, and networking.

  • Each day is comprised of three sessions, which will begin at 8:30 AM and end around 12:30 PM Pacific Time.
  • Each session will consist of a 35-40 minute presentation followed by 20-minute breakout discussions focused on the speaker’s topic.
  • Breaks are scheduled throughout the morning.
  • The day will conclude with an opportunity for social networking.

Program Details

When & Where

The program will take place online from approximately 8:30 am to 12 pm Pacific Time on August 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2020. For exact times. please refer to the program agenda on the Peer 150 website.

Tuition

  • 1st Attendee – $3,000
  • 2nd Attendee – $2,500
  • 3rd Attendee – $1,500
  • 4th Attendee – $1,000

Tuition covers virtual access to the program. Berkeley Law alumni are eligible for a 15% discount.

MCLE

This program has been approved for up to 12.5 hours of MCLE credit by the State Bar of CaliforniaAttorneys from other states will need to contact their local bar to verify their own certification requirements.
