1 unit
MTuWTh 4:00PM-7:30PM
Start date: July 9, 2018
End date: July 12, 2018

We invite you to put on proverbial glasses and learn to ‘see’ your work in a new way. Legal work, at its heart, is human work. Accordingly, through Design Thinking for Lawyers, you will discover a framework that allows you to redefine collaboration with both your clients and your colleagues. This discovery can lead to a marked increase in client relations, more satisfying legal practices, and better outcomes. Design thinking, also known as human-centered design, is a way of framing and solving for problems that emphasizes creativity, empathy and multi-disciplinary collaboration. By working on real projects, you will learn and practice key tenets during class, with the goal of making you fully comfortable sharing the framework in your own work environment. In the process, you will naturally become a more satisfied law practitioner, discover better ways to interact with your colleagues, and improve your abilities to serve your clients. Design Thinking for Lawyers includes seminar-style learning, small team-based activities, role-playing and a generally convivial and collaborative community of legal professionals.
