Confronting Systemic Inequities – Critical Race Theory and Caretaking Responsibilities

This panel, which will offer one hour of CLE credit on Elimination of Bias, will feature Berkeley Law’s outstanding faculty discussing their work on law and the elimination of structural inequities. Professor Catherine Albiston (’93) will discuss the gender, race, and class equity issues underlying caretaker leave laws and policies and the impact of expanded access to paid leave. Professor Khiara Bridges will describe the origins of Critical Race Theory, explore its foundational commitments, and consider it as a lens for understanding police brutality. Professor Catherine Fisk (’86) will moderate.
